 AOFAS NEWS

The American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) is a medical specialty society whose members are orthopaedic surgeons specializing in surgical and medical treatment of injuries, diseases, and other conditions of the foot and ankle.

Not everyone in the field of foot care health has met the same standards or possesses the same qualifications. Members of the AOFAS:

  • Have completed medical school
     
  • Have completed five or more years of orthopaedic residency training, including training in surgical and medical treatment of diseases of the foot and ankle.
     
  • Are board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and hold membership in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).
